General Contractor
Stevens Painton Corporation has an excellent history providing General Contracting Services
to our long term clients. SPC will typically provide a combination of self perform work with key subcontractors to provide a complete
installation for our customers.
In a General Contractor role, Stevens Painton Corporation will remain responsible for
implementing the project’s Safety and Quality Programs,
and will be responsible for developing and maintaining the Master Project Schedule.
A partial listing of recent projects performed as a General Contractor is provided:
Allegheny Energy Supply, Combined Cycle Power Plant
Springdale, PA Units 3,4 and 5
Black & Veatch was EPC Firm
Work included complete installation of underground utilities and
process equipment foundations. SPC self performed the excavations,
foundations work and backfilling, and subcontracted the piping
installation and the electrical.
AGA Gas, Inc., New Distibution Center
Hammond, IN
Stevens Painton Corporation was contracted to install a complete gas distribution
facility for AGA gas. Work including supply of pre-engineered
building, foundations and site work, building erection, process
equipment insallation, piping and electrical. Stevens Painton Corporation
subcontracted the pipimg and electrical work. All architectural finishes
for offices, etc.were performed by SPC. Work was an extenstion to
an existing plant requiring pre-cautions for work in an existing gas
distribution facility.
National Steel Corporation, New Process Galanizing Line
Mitsubishi Heavy Industries; Portage IN
For this project Stevens Painton Corporation subcontracted the complete project,
including 1) Engineering (by Continental Design and Management
Group); 2)Building foundations; 3) Equipment Foundations;
4) Process Equipment Installation; 4) Piping; 5) Electrical; 6) Cold
Commissioning; 7) Hot Commissioning (assistance).
LTV Steel Company, Continuous Caster Installation
Mannesmann Demag Corporation; Cleveland, OH
Stevens Painton Corporation worked as a general Contractor for installation at
LTV Steel Corporation. SPC’s role included self performing and
project management. Worked self performed by SPC included
1) Site Clearing and Demolition; 2) Building Foundations;
3) Equipment Foundations; 4) Structural Steel Modifications;
5) Equipment Setting; 6) Process Piping (in Partnership with JWP).
Stevens Painton Corporation was Construction Manager for the remainder of the
project including Engineering, Structural and Steel Erection and
Electrical. Spc performed cold commissioning and provided labor
support and assistance for hot commissioning, and Continental
Design and Management Group provided engineers to support
commissioning activities as well.
